HARRISBURG - Rep. Brett Miller (R-East Hempfield) today announced that three state grants totaling over $3.2 million were awarded to communities in the 41st Legislative District for key safety and infrastructure projects.
“Each of these grants will help to address a crucial need in our community. I commend our local officials for working to make these projects happen,” Miller said. “I was pleased to advocate for this funding in partnership with State Sen. Ryan Aument.”
The grant awards are as follows:
East Hempfield Township on behalf of United Disability Services Foundation: $772,510 in support of the purchase of 20 ADA compliant vehicles with specialized equipment to safely transport clients throughout the community.
Columbia Borough: $1,000,000 in support of a project to renovate their newly purchased public works facility.
Hempfield School District: $1,500,000 in support of a roof repair project at the Landisville Primary Center and the Landisville Middle School facilities located in East Hempfield Township. The proposed project would extend the life of each roof by 20-25 years and is half the cost of a complete roof replacement.
The grants were given final approval Tuesday at a meeting of the Commonwealth Financing Authority.
